Nagato Uzumaki was born in the Hidden Rain Village, a war-torn land caught between major nations. His childhood was marked by starvation, loss, and the brutality of the shinobi conflicts that devastated his homeland. The deaths of his parents at the hands of Leaf shinobi ignited deep trauma within him. Wandering as an orphan, Nagato eventually met Konan and Yahiko, forming a tight bond that would shape the direction of their lives. The trio encountered Jiraiya, who trained them in ninjutsu and instilled in them the belief that peace was possible even for children raised in violence.
Nagato possessed the Rinnegan, the legendary dōjutsu associated with the Sage of Six Paths. This awakened ability made him a prodigy capable of mastering powerful techniques beyond the reach of most shinobi. Originally gentle, empathetic, and idealistic, Nagato believed that the world could overcome its cycles of hatred. He idolized Yahiko's charisma and leadership, seeing him as a symbol of hope who could guide the Rain Village toward a brighter future.
